Case Study. # 1 - BoomBozz Pizza and Tap Nashville, Tennessee tornado damage.
Situation-
The popular local pizza and tap house located in a historic building in Nashville had been open for one year when it was destroyed by a tornado. To complicate the situation, the landlord had a pending sale of the property scheduled the day following the tornado. The original tenant buildout took 14 months and had several operational design deficiencies and underlying quality concerns.
Outcome-
Vision Building Group was referred to the owner of BoomBozz by a prior client we had worked with in the past. We worked with the tenant, landlord, insurance company, adjusters, structural engineers, architect, bank, historical review and building department to redesign and permit the project in a 45-day time frame. We completed the demolition and rebuild of the space in 7 months. The bar area was doubled, prior flow and construction deficiencies were corrected. The building was successfully sold to the new owner, the tenant is thrilled with the new flow and look of the space.

Case Study #2 - Aztec Apartments – Hurricane Michael Damage Panama City, Florida
Situation –
The 128-unit apartment complex in Panama City sustained heavy damage from category 5 Hurricane Michael incurring $8,000,000 in repair cost. The entire panhandle area was overwhelmed with work, extremely short of housing and being exploited by opportunistic contractors. The owner had contracted with a mitigation company to do the dry out and demolition that was underperforming and creating additional unnecessary damage to the buildings and parking lot.
Outcome –
Vision Building Group was referred to the owner by another client we had conducted business with. Vision worked with the adjuster, insurance company, building codes and the owner to come up with a defined scope of work, action plan, and fair settlement repair cost estimate. We placed a full-time supervisor on site to oversee, coordinate and hold accountable the mitigation contractor. We brought in licensed out of state subcontractors housing them in some of the apartments with minor damage. Vision was able return the complex to 100% occupancy in a 9-month period before other complexes in the area had even started repairs, staying within the agreed upon settlement estimate.
“To Whom It May Concern:
Please let this letter serve as a letter of reference for Vision Building Group.
Having recently undergone a year long, nearly $10 million insurance claim, to restore a 128-unit apartment community in Panama City, FL, I can confidently recommend the services of Vision Building Group.
Their open communication, transparency, and outstanding response time made our lengthy and complex post hurricane restoration project a smooth and efficient process.
Vision Building Group went above and beyond in providing the progress updates and the services that we needed to get units back online, before any other apartment community in our market.
I am thankful for having had the opportunity to work with Vision and would welcome any questions you may have.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.”

Case Study # 3 – Fellowship Bible Baptist Church Warner Robbins, Georgia
Situation –
The Church had undertaken a very large and complex construction project building a 40k SF concrete dome building to be the new sanctuary. The Church had hired a design company that was also acting as the contractor. The bank had stopped funding the project due to lack of progress, substantial cost overruns and lack of confidence in the contractor.
Outcome –
Vision Building Group was referred to the Church by another client we had completed work for. After evaluating the plans and budget we discovered major flaws in function, budget assumptions and methods of construction. Vision teamed up with Trinity Design group to modify the design to improve the function and value engineer the building. We met with the bank board of directors and church leadership providing a comprehensive budget, design review, schedule, and plan for moving forward. We were given unanimous approval at the meeting to move forward by the bank and church leadership. We successfully completed the project two months earlier than projected and within the budget we had submitted.

Case Study # 4 – Fun Land Entertainment- Fairfax Virginia
Situation –
A lease on a 40k SF space that was formally a grocery store was secured by our client prior to Vision Building Group getting involved. We provided a cost estimate based on the plans provided to us by the architect. Our budget was initially $700,000 higher than our client had accounted for. Working with the architect and engineers we were able to make design changes resulting in a $700,000 decrease without affecting any of the design or functional elements of the space.

“I am delighted to write this letter of recommendation for Vision Building Group. Vision built out a large family entertainment space (50,000 square feet) in a shopping center that I own in Northern Virginia. The work was high quality, delivered on time, and at a fair price. As is customary, Vision bid out the job to trades. Without exception, the trades performed well under the supervision of Vison, the General Contractor.
Throughout the work, my dealings with Corey Williams and Keith Carey of Vision were open and professional in all respects. They performed superbly, as did Vision.
I am pleased to recommend Vison for any future work regarding high quality, on time performance at a fair price.”
Sincerely,
Alfred H. Moses
